Belgrade Academy of Irish Dance is a branch of Irish Dance Academy Israel that currently has more than 200 dancers, founded by Yair Werdiger TCRG / ADCRG in 2002.
It is a member of dance association An Coimisiún le Rince Gaelach (CLRG), the oldest and the biggest Irish dance association in the world.
There are only two registered Irish dance schools in Serbia and Irish Dance Belgrade is one of them.
The founder of the Academy, Yair Werdiger, started Irish dancing 17 years ago. He learned traditional Irish dance from Mary Brady (ADCRG). He passed his TCRG (Irish dance teacher) examination in 2008 and only three years later in 2011 he became Irish dance adjudicator (ADCRG). In 2013 he toured with Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance in Israel.
Dance director of school in Belgrade is Nina O'Hara Stojanovic, a long-time dancer and dance instructor. She learned Irish dance first in the amateur group Stepworks and then in Celtic Rhythm dance troupe. During her dance career she has won many medals in international dance competitions. Nina also contributed to the Irish dance website Diddlyi by writing numerous blogs about the dance, preventing injury, etc.
